Members of EUCON Project team met in Vienna

To start the final year of common work on the EUCON project, team members of the University of Passau and the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna met on 20 January 2023 in Vienna. Additionally to general discussions on the project, they prepared the EUCON-panel “Changing Perceptions in EU-EEU Relations: A Driver for Changing Foreign and Defence Policy” at the BASEES annual conference in Glasgow in March. Researchers of three partner universities (Passau, Yerevan and Vienna) will present analyses of the external and the self-perception of the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union and their member states with regard to their mutual relations after the “Zeitenwende”. Furthermore, the team members started to work on the continuation of the EUCON network after the end of the current funding period. Due to the ongoing geopolitical changes, scientific analyses of relations between European and Eurasian countries are of increasing importance. The partners of EUCON will continue to provide evidence-based recommendations to decision-makers in foreign policy.
